Put it on the big screen
How to put the seating, standings and prizes on a TV by cable or cast while the laptop stays free.
See the tournament from one room.
What the video says
Connect the TV
Put the tournament on a TV, and the whole room can see where to sit, who’s winning, and what it pays. All it takes is a laptop and a TV.
Plug the laptop into the TV, and note the number beside the port. Say, HDMI 2. Press Input on the remote, some remotes say Source, and choose that number.
No cable? If the TV takes a cast, press the Windows key and K, and pick the TV from the list. Not every TV can, so a cable is the sure way.
Now press the Windows key and P together, and choose Extend. The TV becomes a second screen, and your laptop stays free to run the tournament.
A window of its own
Open the tournament, and on the Rounds tab press Put it on the big screen. It opens in a window of its own, and your first window stays where it was.
Now drag that new window over to the TV. Or hold the Windows key and Shift, and press the right arrow, and it jumps straight there.
Then press F11. The tabs and the address bar disappear, and the scoreboard fills the screen.
It runs itself
From there it runs itself: where everybody sits, then the standings, then the prizes, 8 seconds each, and it keeps up as the scores come in. Tap it, or press the space bar, to turn it by hand.
Your first window stays on the laptop, for checking players in, scoring a table, and running the night.
Before the first deal
Before the first deal, plug in the charger, and set the laptop never to sleep while it’s plugged in, or the TV goes dark mid-round. F11 again leaves full screen, and Escape takes it back to the scoreboard. On a Mac, use Displays in System Settings, and Control, Command, F.
Put it on the big screen, and see the tournament from one room.
