Getting started on your phone

What a new player does at home: make an account, put the app on their phone, turn on notifications and add the calendar.

Your phone, ready to play.

What the video says

Make an account

In just a few minutes at home, before your first tournament, set up your phone, and it knows where you sit, tells you when results are in, and keeps every date on your calendar.

Open the link your admin sent you, and press New here? Create an account.

Give your first and last name as the club knows you. Then your birthday, ZIP code and a secret word. They tell you apart from anybody else with your name. Then an email and a password. To make it easier in the future, let your phone store your password.

The link carries the club’s code, so the moment the account is made, you’re in the club. Your record says That’s you. If your name already has tournaments behind it, your admin confirms it’s you. Press Check for updates to see when they have.

Put the app on your phone

The first step is to put the app on your phone. On Your record, press Pre-tournament checklist. Then, under Put the app on your phone, press Show me how.

On an iPhone, open it in Safari. Tap the three dots at the bottom, then Share, then Add to Home Screen, then Add.

On Android, in Chrome, tap the three dots at the top, then Install app, or Add to Home screen. From now on, open it from the icon.

Notifications

Now the notifications. Open the app from the icon, go to Your record, and turn on Tell me on this device. Your phone asks once. Say Allow. On an iPhone, this only works from the home screen icon. That’s why we did that first.

During a tournament, it tells you four things. You’re playing. The tournament has started, with your table and partner. Each round as it’s in, with who’s leading. And results are up.

Calendar and phone number

If you want to keep track of tournaments, on Your record, press Add to iPhone or Mac calendar, and say Subscribe. Using Google or Outlook? Press Copy link, and the card shows where to paste it.

Every tournament shows up with its address and start time, and moves by itself when your admin moves it. The link is for you only. Do not forward it.

Press the pencil by your name to add or modify your phone number. It’s how your admin reaches you on the day, if the hall changes or a seat opens up.

That’s it. Everything here is on the new player checklist, and your admin can send it to you too.

With a quick setup, you’re ready to play in every tournament.
