Optional, and the prize table
A cash tin, an envelope of payouts, and one person who knows what’s in it.
The money is optional. If your club plays for fun, leave it unticked and nobody sees a dollar sign. If you do play for money, tick it. Put in the entry fee and how many places pay, and the prize table works itself out before anybody walks in.
Charity and collecting the entry fee
Plenty of tournaments play for a cause. Put in what goes to charity, and it comes off the top before the prizes are paid.
One thing the app never does is take your money. Paste the link where your players already pay, Venmo, PayPal, or your giving page, and every player gets a Pay button. The money goes straight to you.
The treasury
Don’t want a club treasury? It’s one tick, and every dollar is paid out. Anything left over shows on the tournament.
When the tournament is complete, the treasury adds itself up: what came in, what was paid out, and what’s held in reserve.
And the treasury keeps count of every dollar you’ve given, tournament by tournament.
And when it’s time for the books, the charity report lists every tournament and the year’s total, ready to print, or to open in Excel.
Sponsors and season prizes
Sponsors give prizes, not just cash. Record the gift basket, the gift card or the championship belt, what it was for, and who provided it, and you’ll have a full accounting, especially if you run a non-profit.
Every sponsor ends up in one list, with everything they gave. Handy when it’s time to say thank you, and to ask again next year.
Seasons are optional too. If your club keeps one, its prizes and supplies come out of the treasury and off the balance, so the tin and the book always agree.
