The check-in station

How to get the word out, then mark who is here and who has paid at the door, walk-ins and no-shows included.

Everybody here. Everybody paid.

What the video says

Getting the word out

Twenty people at the door, a cash box, and a list you’re crossing off in pen. There’s a better way to account for your players before the tournament.

Beforehand, there are three ways to get the word out. One is to create a flyer, use the QR code, and add it to your social media.

Players point their phone camera at it. There’s no app to download.

Every tournament has its own invite link, right beside the flyer. Copy it and paste it anywhere.

You can also send an email or a text to your players, and post it on social media as well.

Whatever path they choose, one press and they’ve got their seat at the tables.

At the door

Before the doors open, there’s a checklist for the whole tournament: weeks before, the day of, and after. Review these items so that you can stay on track, be efficient, and reduce stress.

At the door, tap Here when they walk in, and Paid when they hand over the entry fee. Buying into the side game? That’s its own tap, right beside it. Now everything is marked off in one place.

Somebody walks in who isn’t on the list? Add them right at the check-in station. They go into the tournament, checked in, and the rounds are drawn again for the bigger room.

Players who can’t move tables

Got a player who can’t move tables? Tick it under their name. They stay at one table the whole tournament, everybody else moves around them, and it’s remembered for every tournament after.

Are you running a big tournament, or have multiple players with mobility issues? You can choose zone seating. Everybody plays among a few tables near their last one, so nobody crosses the room, and every player who can’t move keeps their own table.

No-shows and time to start

Utilizing the check-in station keeps you from having to walk the room. Still to come shows who hasn’t turned up yet, and the player count tells you who’s here and who’s paid.

Do you have players that signed up and didn’t show? Tap the X and their entry comes off the list, and the rotation is redrawn for the room you’ve actually got.

What if you see everyone in the room and it’s time to start? One press marks everyone here and paid, and you’re all set.
