How a euchre qualifier series works

A qualifier series is a season of tournaments that feed one Finals. The top finishers from each tournament earn a spot, so every event has something at stake.

How it works

  1. Decide how many teams go through from each tournament.
  2. Run the qualifying tournaments across the season.
  3. Collect the qualifiers from each one.
  4. Play the Finals.

Questions to settle in advance

  • What if a team that already qualified finishes on top again? The usual answer is that they don't take a second spot, and the next team moves up.
  • What if a qualified team can't make the Finals? Either the next team in line moves up, or the spot stays empty.
  • What if a team splits up? Decide whether a substitute can play in the Finals.
  • Do points carry into the Finals? Most series start everyone even, but say so up front.
